Nothing marks the arrival of the holiday season better than the much-anticipated arrival of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau!! This young wine, generally seven to nine weeks old, is meant to be enjoyed as part of the harvest celebration...just like Thanksgiving. Beaujolais Nouveau should be joyfully consumed within a month of its release while the fresh, raw, grapey flavors are in full tilt. And, since, 1985, the Institut National des Appellations d'Origine (INAO) has established the third Thursday in November as the wine's uniform release date. In fact, these wines can be shipped earlier, but must be held in bonded warehouses until 12:01a.m. whereupon they can finally be happily consumed. So, join us as we joyfully begin the holiday season with this annual rite of passage. We will be tasting the '08 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau. And, in preparation of Thanksgiving, we will also be tasting the '07 Flonheimer Bingerberg Riesling Spatlese from Germany. Let's celebrate!
